Mike and Fred Klonsky planned to have our good friend Prexy Nesbitt on this weeks show. But weather in New York and at La Guardia had a different plan. We did have a call-in from 45th Ward Chicago Alderman John Arena who has been waging a good fight to build affordable housing in a neighborhood on Chicago's north west side that desperately needs it. Chicago's long ugly history of segregated housing was re-ignited. We get into it, joined by our producer Jamie Trecker on what's behind it all. After the break we get into it about our fave topic: schools, choice, vouchers, funding and Betsy De Vos.

They are members of a youth group affiliated with the Logan Square Neighborhood Association that is exploring the indigenous native history of themselves and their community. Their journey included a trip to Standing Rock. They are also active in issues concerning gentrification, all of which is connected to folks being removed from their land. Also joining us are Katy Hogan and Mike James, long-time social justice fighters, founders of the Heartland Cafe, radio host on Live from the Heartland.
